A Great Sense Of Humor

Stephen Colbert took off the white gloves at the White House Correspondents' Dinner and it was hilarious. Although I think the Chimperor is a thieving scumbag, hats off to him for his sense of humor. Colbert even saved some for his "paisan" Scalia.

Watching stuff like this reminds me of how good we have it here in the U.S.; of how lucky we are to live in a country where a comedian can poke fun at the President and a Supreme Court justice and make it home alive. Let's make sure America stays that way.

Amazing that the so-called "liberal" media gave it virtually no attention.

  1. I find Colburn funny because I'm put off by ORiley and I can take a joke. The thing I can't figure out is why the press corp was so quiet? Maybe because the tone was over the top?

Now I'd like to see how you square your comments about freedom of speech with McCain's comment on Ibus this morning that he'd "...rather have a clean government -uh- than one whose-with quote first amendment rights were being respected but has become corrupt. If I had my choice I'd rather have clean government."

  2. Those aren't the only two options we have for our government, are they? If they are, we are in BIG trouble. :-)

  3. yeah, it's funny there was so little audience reaction. maybe colbert's timing doesn't work as well with bush partisans, and i'm pretty sure there were a lot of them there.

i thought he was a little weak at the start, but later on he was devastating.

mccain's weird. like you say, why would he even think of having to choose? if he thinks clamping down on speech would clean up govt, he's full of sheiss.

  5. Oh wow, is this now ein zweisprachig Deutscher blog?

Anyway, I'm not surprised this didn't get covered by the corporate media - Colbert didn't just poke fun at the chimperor and his junta, but at the White House press corps for not doing its damn job. Of course they didn't cover it - they're a part of the problem. "Liberal media" my ass - they're just as much a part of the status quo as anyone else, too damn polite to tell the truth.

  6. I saw this and I thought it was insane!? Why the hell would they invite Colbert to this party to begin with? Who approved his material? This was great!

  7. I wondered the same thing. Is it possible Bush and the brownshirts didn't clear the material in advance?
