Check These Out

A couple bloggers are on a roll this week so, instead of re-inventing the wheel, I am going to link to their great stuff.

Crankboy has hit the bullseye twice in a row. The first is about crazy Pat Robertson running his (oops, I mean God's) mouth about Sharon's stroke. I am waiting for the Christian community to step up to the plate for some credibility and decry the insanity of this lunatic once and for all. If Robertson wasn't rich, he'd be in a straightjacket singing Sweet Home Alabama by now.

The second post from Cranky is, of course, about the Emperor. This priceless quote from His Highness, "If this were a dictatorship, it'd be a heck of a lot easier, just so long as I'm the dictator" sums up all that is going on these days.

Did you hear about the Baptist minister in Oklahoma who got busted for propositioning a cop for a quickie BJ? Oh yeah, two important facts. The minister is a man and the cop he propositioned was a man. Isn't it always the people who yell the loudest about homosexuality who secretly dream of finding out the truth about Tom Cruise? http://stalintheshark.blogspot.com/.

Captain Fogg reminds us of the government's broad powers to declare martial law.

And JJ rounds it out with a whole lot that must be read.

Happy Weekend.

Patriotism lies not in blind obedience to authority
but in the desire to search for the truth.

Robertson is clearly insane. He's crazy, plus he's been bought off by the zionists.

Funny about the OK preacher as well. Certainly it is usually the homophobe that is probably gay. That's why I stopped posting about gay marriage!! :-) But what happens if you oppose gay marriage, does that make you a homophobe or gay yourself???

BOB - It makes you gay. :-)

In many cases, yes.

II, checked them all out.

I'm not surprised by anything anymore.

Arrogance unchecked.

Mr. Sleep, when I wrote "Check These Out", I didn't think anyone really would. :-) Ha ha.

On a serious note, I read your comments at other blogs and I feel your pain. The exasperation in your comments definitely comes through. Sometimes, you have to take a break because it can be exhausting.

See, that's just not fair! :-) I could see how that would apply to a lot of folks. But dang! Oh well, I'll just have to stick to other topics.

II, I don't take breaks too often. Driven is the word. STS seems to have a healthy balance.

I'm doing alright. #2 son just got engaged, and there is joy in the household. We're busy working with his future in-law's on Wedding planning and that is fun.

When I get really worked up, I send letters to the editor (I have three newspapers) in my immediate area. Just had a letter published in one this week. It's encouraging because I have acquaintances, friends, and neighbors, tell me frequently, "you know, I really liked what you wrote in the paper". My wife wants me to stop as she's afraid I'll piss off some community wacko.

Hey Mr. Sleep, congratulations!

This is probably the right place and time to say thanks - I love your posts, and you're one of the main posters over at RC's that really makes sense.

There's reason to be driven these days. I'm losing track of all the scandals.

Mr. S -

Congrats on hitching one of the offspring. :-) I am impressed that you are involved in the wedding plans. Most men just stand on the sidelines.

Are any of your letters to the editor online?

Online Letters to the Editor? They are always online when posted. Next time one gets posted, I'll give you a heads up.

One thing the Sleepmeister is doing is actually making the wine for the Wedding Reception. Actually it is already made and just aging in the bottle. I have a Nephew getting married in September, and I'm providing the Wine to that Wedding as well.

Been making wine for 7 years now, and I grow my own grapes as well.

Just had to share this: I'm having a smackdown with this really skanky commenter, one of MSR's little friends. This one is bad even by the low standards that obtain in some web cesspools.

Mr. Sleep,

Does any of the crew have your e-mail address? I want to e-mail you instead of clogging the comments section with stupid questions. :-)

StS - wow! I don't think I have seen a throwdown like that in my almost a year in the blogosphere. Hold up, let me get the popcorn.

Stalin.

Sounds like you have a minnow on the line.

ii, no, no one has the sleepmeister's email address, yet.

Just a humble servant living in relative obscurity.

I have chosen so far to keep my persona's separate between real life, and blog life.

How do you suggest breaching the gap?

All you need to know is that I am one to fight the fight that needs fighting.

If anything, my parents, right or wrong established REAL principles in me, and that is how I live my life.

Thanks for the hat tip Mr. Insurgent. I was a little less cranky than normal for a fleeting moment.

Glad to help Cranky, but you didn't know it's Ms. Insurgent? :-)
