Arabs and Birds

This cartoon was too funny not to post. It sums up all the hysterical paranoia the media is drumming up to keep the masses busy talking about nothing. Arabs are going to infiltrate the Dubai Ports World Company and use the company to get visas to come to the United States so they can bring bird flu-infected chickens with them. Gosh, I am so terrified. Hillary - save me!

Perhaps that will be next week's episode of 24.

I think the real threat to National Security is George W. Bush.

I read that the sick birds have turned up in Sweden. I'm starting to feel threatened by all the Volvos and Saabs I see around here. . . .

II: While I do think that the MSM has exploited this issue and there is a racially biased tone, I still think that security is quite important. As I said yesterday I don't think that we should have other foreign companies manage our ports in any capacity. But I am far too ignorant to offer anything sound to whet your pallat. Try KipEsquire's take on the issue;)

if it wasn't for their obsession with doing things on the qt then springing them on us full blown, i doubt the port deal would've aroused so much anxiety.

we need transparency: congressional involvement, public hearings, &c.

If we farm manufacturing to China, software to India, gardening and domestic to Mexico, and port operation to UAE, what are we going to be doing in this country? Worship Bush?

I agree with the last commenter. Pretty soon, we will be a nation of merchants who have sold every resource of value. We will have a lot of paper money, but what good is paper money if there are no hard resources to back it up? No, I am not a monetarist in that sense...
