Quote Of The Day

"War prosperity is like the prosperity that an earthquake or a plague brings. The earthquake means good business for construction workers, and cholera improves the business of physicians, pharmacists, and undertakers; but no one has for that reason yet sought to celebrate earthquakes and cholera as stimulators of the productive forces in the general interest."

Ludwig Von Mises

The strange dream state of the American dream. We have a war economy. Congressional thugs controlled by special interest money.

Very true Skip. America does have a war economy. No wonder. Recent US Foreign Policy is a formula for war.

Which begs the question - why?

In the spirit of the original post - who celebrates the earthquake and cholera of War Without End and Lies about WMD's.

The rulers of the world celebrate the earthquakes and cholera because it improves their portfolios. They are all part of an elite club in which they steal money from their people and give it to each other in the form of "aid", which always finds its way to a Swiss bank account and a phat house on the French Riviera. Not only are those corrupt dictators killing their own people, but they are stealing from America's people too. Saddam didn't get all those fancy palaces from tax revenue.

Ah yes , that is the essence of the Price System and its control of the people by the caste or class system and special interest groups of thug politicians and religious dissemblers.
Divide and Conquer. Disinformation. Turn people against each other with muddling abstract concepts of right and wrong and good and evil. Ha.
Money is the economic club that is held over the head of the proles here and elsewhere.
We have the ability to change into a good system.
Why don`t we.?
Our window of opportunity will not be open forever.
It is open now. A new American revolution is needed , and a restructuring of society is a must.
Our price system must go first.
We have abundance in this society but live in scarcity due to the current control of the power possessor's.
Chaos as our system becomes more and more dysfunctional will happen.
You cannot employ people when the whole concept of work does not make sense , and hasn`t for a long time , as we think of it. Work now only is used to maintain the class system, something that technology should have put in the ashcan of history.
Fasten your seat-belts. A deadly collision ahead on this road.

Always look out for #1. Government, Big Business are really like living breathing organisms. Almost mindless, just feeding, growing, surviving. No conscience.

Best wishes to all during this Holiday period. I'm a Merry Christmas man, so I'll wish you a Merry Christmas.

I do have hope for the future, since I do believe in the general good will of mankind. There is more that joins us together, than divides us. Still the Powers that be, choose to try to separate, divide us, and pit us against each other.

Reconnect with family, friends, and your community right now. Reinforce those bonds that hold you together.

Peace, out.

II. Last year at this time, it was a very trying time for you. I hope you get some comfort and solice in the knowledge that your Mother's spirit in many respects is alive and well in your heart, and soul.

Our politicians celebrate a healthy economy when the GDP grows. Granted, the GDP may have grown while we built more prisons to incarcerate our citizens instead of educate them, bombs to destroy sovereign nations and incite civil wars, and listening devices to find the terrorists among us. Growth in the GDP may reflect a healthy economy, but I'm more interested in a healthy society than I am in the flow of finances.
Instead of GDP, we should look at other indicators of health society. Others have championed this notion and developed the Genuine Progress Indicator (GPI) as a better measure of socio-economic trends. Check it out when you have a minute.
